For ultra smooth highlighting, use a super fluorescent gel stick. There's no paint, but there's no mess. Highlights inkjet and laser bond paper printouts beautifully. For most printed documents, it's bleed-proof and smear-resistant. To advance or retract the super gel stick, twist the highlighter end. When not in service, keep the bottle sealed. It's ideal for really thin paper. Glides seamlessly. It would not dried out.
